Poco remains one of the contenders among brands offering so-called flagship killer smartphones, and its next product could be launching soon. Its next device, the widely rumored Poco F3 GT, has reportedly received certification from Indian authorities.
Gizchina reports that the Poco F3 GT has been spotted on the website of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), with model number 2104K10L. A device with the same identification was reportedly seen recently on the IMEI database and the TUV Rheinland, which inspects a handset’s fast-charging capabilities, among other specifications.
The same report notes that the assigned model number for the Poco F3 GT strengthens the speculation that it is going to be a rebrand launch of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition. The latter launched in China earlier this year with model number M2104K10C.
It is also worth noting that the launch of the Poco F3 GT is not a secret. In late May, the official Poco India YouTube channel released a 28-second video for “The next F,” which the teaser confirms to be the Poco F3 GT. The device is confirmed to launch in the third quarter of 2021. Considering its recent certifications, an official announcement is likely happening in the coming weeks.
The video tries to be coy about the Poco F3 GT technical specifications and only reveals that it will be powered by the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 1200. The SoC features one core of Cortex-A78 clocked at 3.0GHz, three cores of 2.6GHz Cortex-A78, and four cores of 2.0GHz Cortex-A55. Its graphics processing capabilities are powered by the Mali-G77 MC9 GPU.
While that is the only official detail known about the Poco F3 GT, tech fans are not exactly clueless about its other specs since it is expected as a rebranded Redmi K40 Gaming Edition. The device, which launched in April, has a 6.67-inch OLED display (1080 x 2400) that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+.
Poco F3 GT is likely launching with a triple camera composed of a 64MP wide main sensor, along with 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro lenses. Another highlight feature of the Redmi K40 Gaming phone is its 5,065mAh battery with 67W fast-charging technology advertised to fully recharge the device in 42 minutes.
