The PlayStation 5 is expected to launch in 2020, but leaks about the device have proliferated on the web for months. Now, it appears that its very design has been leaked as well.

It should be noted, however, that the PlayStation 5’s look has already been leaked months prior. The problem is that there’s no way to authenticate whether it’s the real thing or not.

Now, Gizmodo claims that the previous leak is indeed carrying some weight as the site revealed an anonymous source has been sending them renders of the device before all of this began. The PlayStation 5 leak first emerged in August, but Gizmodo claims their source has been sending the mockups of the console as early as June.

PlayStation 5 and the Shakespeare narrative

What’s more, the tipster is calling the next entry as Prospero. What’s interesting about this is that Prospero is a character in Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” where the wizard is aided by two other individuals named Ariel and Gonzalo. And since both these names have been tied to AMD’s upcoming products that are supposed to be the hardware of the PlayStation 5, then the claim gets even more intriguing, Eurogamer reported.

Another rumor going around is that Sony’s upcoming console will have a feature that could help gamers when they’ve hit a brick wall when playing a particular title. Apparently, the PlayStation 5 will have an AI assistant that would help players locating items that are otherwise hidden inside a map. And that’s just the tip of it.

PlayStation 5 could arrive in late 2020

For instance, if you’re trying to locate a rare item in an RPG title but is growing frustrated, you can simply summon the assistant and ask it to pinpoint the gear for you. Of course, it’s safe to assume that hardcore gamers will not use this alleged PlayStation 5 feature since finding gear on your own and discovering hidden passages is one of the fun things in playing a game. For those who want a straightforward experience, however, then the feature could be useful.

With the console wars kick-starting next year, it’s expected that more details about the PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Scarlett will surface in the coming months. As for when the next-gen console will be released, there’s still no official confirmation from both Sony and Microsoft. However, speculations would have it that it will arrive in the latter stages of 2020, perhaps on the Holiday season.
