Pepsi just unveiled the new flavor it created with Peeps. This is surely exciting news for marshmallow fans that also enjoy colas.
Pepsi is distributing the Peeps flavored soda cans soon, ahead of Easter time. The product has been dubbed the "PEPSI x PEEPS," and it will offer a combined cola flavor with sweet marshmallow that Peeps is known for.
The unique collaboration of cola and marshmallow makers
As per CNN Business, this is the first time that Pepsi is using marshmallows to create a new flavor. This can be considered an experiment but with a satisfying outcome. Also, Pepsi usually tries to make its fans excited by releasing seasonal flavors, and this collaboration with Peeps is the company’s offering for this season.
It was added that this was also created in time for Easter, so it will be coming in bright colored-cans. The consumer can choose from pink, blue, and orange shades for the marshmallow flavored cola from Pepsi. The company described the taste as “pillowy-soft and sweet” that is ideal for quenching the thirst in springtime.
"After what has been a very difficult year, many consumers are looking for new things to smile about,” Pepsi’s marketing vice president, Todd Kaplan, said in a press release. “So to celebrate the start of springtime, Pepsi collaborated with PEEPS to develop a limited batch of its first-ever marshmallow cola.”
He added, "We know our consumers love our limited product drops, and we believe that PEPSI x PEEPS will deliver an iconic and delicious pairing that has the potential to become a fan favorite."
Where and how to get Pepsi’s new Peeps flavor
It should be noted that Pepsi’s Peep cola will only be available for a limited time, and it was revealed that not everyone could have it since these can’t be bought in stores. Instead, Pepsi will be giving away a total of 3,000 packages, and the recipients would be picked through the #HangingWithMyPEEPS contest.
Those who want to participate just need to upload spring celebration photos and add the #HangingWithMyPEEPS hashtag, then tag Pepsi on Instagram and Twitter. The chosen winners will each receive a package with three 7.5-ounce mini-cans of PEPSI x PEEPS. Then again, Kaplan said that there is a possibility to sell the product in stores if there will be a big demand for it later.
