“Peaky Blinders” Season 5 is set to come out this year and fans can’t wait for this new entry to start. There’s a lot of excitement going on for the Shelby group as Tommy (Cillian Murphy) has now become an MP, RadioTimes reported.

With a newfound power and influence, “Peaky Blinders” Season 5 will have the Shelby family growing in both reputation and infamy as their rise above society takes on new heights. But a bigger crime organization to run comes a set of new complications as well.

In “Peaky Blinders” Season 5, Tommy will be dealing with new villains that are alien even to him. While the Shelby leader has disposed of massive threats in the past, he has yet to face one whose power resides within the political spectrum.

Sam Claflin is thought to play this new antagonist, although there’s still no confirmation from BBC itself. Claflin’s first look saw him donning a three-piece suit, a striped tie, a mustache; his hair slicked-back and his expression one of danger and mystery. His overall vibe commands a great deal of respect, one of the aspects of being a politician. Aside from Claflin, “Peaky Blinders” Season 5 will also be featuring a new rival gang inspired by a real crime organization that existed in the 1920s.

Called simply as the Billy Boys, the gang is one of the most infamous crime group during this era as their militaristic approach to running their operation made them an efficient and brutal bunch. Alongside the Billy Boys are the Derry Boys, the younger counterpart of the gang whose members mostly involves teenagers. Together, both groups were said to have been 800 strong at their prime, spreading fear across Glasgow and its surrounding territories. And if this isn’t enough for Tommy, “Peaky Blinders” Season 5 will also have his mental health push to the brink as hinted by what happened in the fourth installment.

With bigger responsibility on his lap and new threats to contend with, it’s looking like the Shelby family will have their mettle tested yet again. Could “Peaky Blinders” Season 5 be the installment that would see the Shelby family finally giving way to the pressures of their criminal life? That remains to be seen. Regarding when audiences can expect the series’ return, it’s release date is rumored to be somewhere in the fall, perhaps around September or October, Business Times reported.
