Ainz Ooal Gown will immediately have a hectic schedule when “Overlord” season 4 begins. By the end of the third season, he had just started establishing the Sorcerer Kingdom. And when a new anime installment begins, fans will find him determining his orders of business as a new emperor.
'Overlord' season 4 plot: Ainz wants Adventurers to go out on real adventures
By definition, adventure means going out on a mission or to a destination without complete knowledge of the outcome and the risks. However, Ainz will arrive at a realization early on in “Overlord” season 4 that the Adventurers in their realm are no longer playing that role.
In volume 10 of the same title light novel series where “Overlord” season 4’s early episodes will be based, this realization takes place after he visits the Adventurer’s Guild. Adventurers’ missions have been limited to hunting down monsters, and they are having a difficult time finding new jobs since Ainz took over E-Rantel and brought Death Knights and Soul Eaters with him. It is at this point when Ainz makes it his goal to bring back the true essence of what it means to be an Adventurer.
One of Ainz’s first missions in “Overlord” season 4 is to help Adventurers be able to go find jobs that would allow them to explore the unknown. YGGDRASIL is the main protagonist’s main inspiration for this idea. Ainz tells Moknach in “Overlord” season 4 that he hopes for them to live by the true meaning of being an adventurer instead of being stuck in one place to protect the residents.
Some of the first steps to achieve this include changing the main orientation of the Adventurer's Guild and start training lower-level Adventurers in “Overlord” season 4. The guild's main purpose now is to identify unexplored lands that have not even been added to the map yet.
'Overlord' season 4 spoilers, release date
Ainz’s efforts in changing the Adventurers’ objectives are linked to his main goal in “Overlord” season 4. He wants to make the Sorcerer Kingdom a utopia where all creatures and races could co-exist to worship him.
Meanwhile, the production of “Overlord” season 4 has yet to be confirmed. While there are enough light novel materials to make another 13 episodes, releasing the fourth season anytime soon would mean that the anime series is getting too close to where the light novel’s events are. With that, the release date of “Overlord” season 4 remains unknown.
