Droughtlander will be officially over in less than two months, with “Outlander” season 4 bringing fans and its lead stars from continental Europe to the wild unknown of North Carolina.
Fans have already had a sneak peek at the dangers that Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe's Jamie and Claire Fraser will face in “Outlander” season 4 from the upcoming installment's preview trailer. The show's new villain, Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speleers), is mysteriously crafty and may pose a bigger threat than the show's trailer portrays. Fans are very much hyped to expect danger at every corner of the new world that Jamie and Claire Fraser must travel through.
But despite the dangers, Jamie and Claire Fraser might have something else to celebrate aside from the welcome that Mary Doyle Kennedy's Aunt Jocasta gives to the couple as they enter North Carolina. The “Outlander” season 4 trailer teases another Fraser from the future returning to the past.
Sophie Skelton's Briana Fraser eventually returns to the past to look for her mother and father in Diana Gabaldon's “The Drums of Autumn.” Most likely, Briana will be joined by her beau-to-be, Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin), who also shares the same ability to traverse time as the Fraser women.
In a short interview with TV Line, “Outlander's” executive producer, Matthew B. Roberts, mentions that Jamie Fraser's fateful meeting of Briana Fraser will definitely happen in “Outlander” season 4. Roberts emphasizes that the event will stay true to the show's original source material and is sure to “bring some tears.”
Roberts adds that “Outlander” season 4 will start telling the story from characters with different points of view but the show will still essentially focus on Jamie and Claire Fraser as the centerpiece. Fans of Jamie and Claire Fraser can look forward to the couple's new adventures on the North American frontier when “Outlander” season 4 airs its preview episode on Nov. 4.
