The OnePlus 6T is one of the most anticipated smartphones coming out this year as the company has built its brand by giving end users what they want. And with the flagship having a considerably lower price point compared to its predecessor, this upcoming device is expected to have a remarkable sales performance when it finally hits the market on Nov. 6, Express reported.

The Shenzhen-based company has outfitted the OnePlus 6T with several features that are going to be unique for the flagship. This radical change is new for the manufacturer as it usually implements improvements on the T variant on a relatively standard scale.

Now, the OnePlus 6T has been given a fingerprint sensor that is located in the bottom area of the smartphone’s display. OnePlus CEO and founder Pete Lau said that their decision to relocate the sensor is to provide users with a far more convenient way of unlocking their phones.

And since a person’s thumb naturally lands on the bottom part of the display when using a device, movements become more fluid. However, this convenience comes at a price.

Because of the relocation, the OnePlus 6T is not going to have a headphone jack. The company said that their decision was swayed by the fact that most of their users are already using wireless headphones anyway.

What’s more, the removal of the jack also allowed the company to increase the battery life of the OnePlus 6T. While its predecessor had a 3,300 mAh battery, this new variant has a 3,700 mAh battery, a change that’s been widely requested for by the company’s user base.

As for the IP rating of the OnePlus 6T, Lau said that the upcoming device will be more water resistant compared to its predecessor and will be able to survive if accidentally dropped in the sink. However, the company didn’t opt to acquire an IP rating license that would have rendered the device fully water resistant as Lau explained that most people don’t take their phones with them when they go for a dip.

As such, it would have been unfair for the rest of the users to be charged $30 more in order to accommodate those few people who swim with their devices. Wireless charging is also not included in the OnePlus 6T. Lau said that unless the technology can compete with the Dash charger, it will not include this feature in their flagships.
