There’s little doubt in the anime community that “One Punch Man” Season 3 will indeed be happening. Due to the popularity of the series, it’s not a question of if anymore, but when.

Unfortunately, JC Staff or anyone involved in the series has yet to announce when the production of “One Punch Man” Season 3 will begin. It’s not even certain if JC Staff will spearhead the creation of the third entry on account that the studio received massive criticism due to the animation quality of the second installment.

Indeed, fans of the series have launched an online petition requesting director Shingo Natsume to spearhead the creation of “One Punch Man” Season 3. Natsume was the one who helmed the production of the first entry, which resulted in stellar animation quality and remarkable pacing of the entry’s plot.

‘One-Punch Man’ Season 3 and the petition that fans launched

“This lower quality makes the how less enjoyable to watch, which is especially sad for what started out a such an iconic & popular series,” the petition read. “If ‘One-Punch Man’ continues to run under this lower quality animation, it will not only fail to attract new fans, but could also result in the loss of pre-existing fans.” The petition is looking to sign 2,500 signatures from fans, and as of this writing, it has garnered 2,317. Natsume has yet to respond from this movement, and it remains unclear if he is free to spearhead “One Punch Man” Season 3.

Meanwhile, the story of the upcoming installment will be full with exciting fight scenes as the Hero Association and Monster Association are set to collide. The second entry already laid out all the necessary details for this to happen and “One Punch Man” Season 3 will be the culmination of all this setup.

One Punch Man Season 3 to highlight Garou’s character development

And in the middle of all these impending conflicts is Garou. The anti-hero will once again step into the spotlight in “One Punch Man” Season 3 after falling unconscious following his battle against Bang and Bomb. Orochi, the head of the Monster Association, will task Garou to bring the severed head of a hero of any rank to him as proof that he’s indeed worthy of his title.

But the Hero Hunter does the opposite after saving Tareo from the clutches of Royal Ripper, infiltrating the MA’s base and laying waste to the monsters who’s been sent to investigate the intrusion. It’s for this reason that fans don’t want JC Staff to handle “One Punch Man” Season 3 since the fight scenes between Garou and MA members will be one of the highlights of the next installment.

As for when it will be released, nothing has been confirmed so far. We’ll likely hear more about “One Punch Man” Season 3 in October as the DVD/Blu-Ray box sets of the second entry are slated to hit the shelves during this month.
