After a long wait, the release date for “One Punch Man” season 2 has finally been narrowed down to a certain month in 2019. Meanwhile, Garou is now looking like the perfect big villain for the upcoming season as the bad omen predicted by Shibabawa is coming true.
Thanks to the “One Punch Man" Maji Gakuensai that happened last Aug. 12 in Japan, the entire world now knows a lot more official details about “One Punch Man” season 2. For one, as many have speculated before, Garou is going to be the next big villain Saitama has to face.

Garou is seen in the official “One Punch Man” season 2 trailer revealed last week as well as in the key visual revealed by producers. And fans of superhero franchises know that when a villain used to be one of the good guys, that usually means more trouble.
Fans who have seen the entire season 1 may recall that there were already clues that Garou was going to take the spotlight in “One Punch Man” season 2. The character briefly appeared in the finale episode.
Garou only appeared in a silhouette in the first season. It was also when Bang admitted to Saitama and Genos that Garou used to be one of his best students. Unfortunately, Garou became greedy for dominance, but his power is a force to be reckoned with as Bang said he was able to defeat all of his top students.
In the manga series, there was a 10-chapter gap between the first mention of Garou’s name and his actual debut on the pages. Since then, Garou has been known as a character with immense hate towards heroes and even those who simply work for them. He is also known for being fond of monsters. These key characterizations are what actually makes him the perfect main villain for “One Punch Man” season 2.
One main plot to be expected in “One Punch Man” season 2 is the materialization of the seer Shibabawa’s prediction known as the “Great Disaster” in the franchise. According to the omen, the Earth will be plagued with more monsters. Obviously, this complements Garou’s fascination with the beasts.
There was an earlier confusion about the premiere of “One Punch Man” season 2 as some reports claim the first episode was to be released last Aug. 12. However, it is confirmed that “One Punch Man” season 2 will officially premiere in April 2019.
