“One Piece” chapter 972 spoilers are a bit earlier than usual, not that fans would mind it at all. Interestingly, the leaks reveal the reason why Wano was always closed off to the outside world and what happens during Oden and the Nine Red Scabbard’s execution.
Wano Country has always been close off from outsiders but recently “One Piece” chapter 972 spoilers and leaks from Reddit reveal that it was actually a decision made a long time ago. During the execution, Oden will entertain thoughts of opening up Wano Country to the rest of the world.
Apparently, it was his family that intentionally sealed the country for a very interesting reason. “From the distant past, it was the Kozuki family that seals the country from the outside world,” Oden said, according to the One Piece 972 spoilers posted by gyrozepp95 on Reddit. “This is to protect Wano from ‘certain strong power.’”
Perhaps the biggest question in the Wano arc is what or who might this “certain strong power” might be. It is possible that Oden might be referring to Kaido but he did not specifically state the Yonko’s name. One can’t help but entertain the possibility that it might be the “Lurking Legend” that Oda teased a couple of years back. Hopefully, more will be revealed in “One Piece” chapter 972.
Meanwhile, it’s probably a wrong move on Oden’s part to place too much trust on Kaido’s assurance of letting them go if they survive the one-hour mark. In fact, “One Piece” 972 spoilers say that it will be Kaido who will execute Oden even after he passed the test.
Orochi will change the rules of the execution in “One Piece” chapter 972. “I just changed my mind a minute ago,” Orochi will say. “It will be changed to a shooting execution. And this applies to his whole family.”
Realizing the futility of placing his hopes on Kaido’s word, Oden “throws out the nine scabbards with all his might” hoping they’ll be able to escape and, perhaps, fulfill his dream of opening up Wano in the future.
“For the last compassion, I will be the one who executes you,” Kaido tells Oden. “Your honorable death will be passed on by the rest.”
Oden will say that it doesn’t matter if he’s forgotten but he will later say something that does not seem to make sense. “I hope you give your best to become stronger…” Oden says but he won’t get to finish the sentence as Kaido executes him in “One Piece” chapter 972.
Upon learning of her husband’s death, Toki will open a letter he previously wrote. It will explain to her that he had no hopes of defeating Kaido because he is already at his peak when he fought the Yonko and he couldn’t defeat him.
In his letter, Oden continues to tell Toki about a giant war that will happen in 20 years. He also requests Toki to use her time-traveling power should he die but she tears up the letter before she finishes reading its entirety.
