“One Piece” 923 is expected to be the chapter where Luffy finally goes toe-to-toe with Kaido in earnest, and it is expected to be the most epic fight of the series yet. The previous holder of such a title was the Luffy VS Katakuri match, which is still going on in the anime. How can the future king of the pirates possibly defeat a real, live dragon?
As TheAnimeScrolls notes, this upcoming fight between Luffy and Kaido might just be the greatest in “One Piece” history and it could commence in “One Piece” 923. The consequences of picking a fight with a yonko are nothing to scoff at, especially since Kaido’s true form was recently revealed. With him being a dragon, it can be difficult to imagine how Luffy would even stand a chance against him.
There is also the fact that Kaido has been confirmed to be invincible by the manga’s creator. With this being the case, Luffy picking a fight with him in “One Piece” 923 could lead to an even worse beatdown than what he got from Katakuri. The group’s troubles don’t stop there, either.
With the appearance of Kaido, the carefully laid-out plans by Kinemon and his group went down the drain, OtakuKart reports. The most that Luffy or Law can do in “One Piece” 923 is to reduce the casualty count that will inevitably be inflicted by the yonko. In fact, it was in the act of trying to save his friends that the Straw Hats captain ends up throwing an Elephant Gun punch at Kaido.
“One Piece” 923 will be released on Nov. 5, so fans have a good while yet to anticipate this inevitably epic battle. Will Luffy actually stand a chance against someone who can turn into a dragon and has already been confirmed to be invincible?
