“NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 is going through a lot of turbulence right now as CBS announced the show’s executive producer, Brad Kern, has been suspended. The grounds for the disciplinary action are based on allegations that Kern behaved inappropriately onset and engaged in sexual misconduct.

Brad Kern’s behavior reportedly created a “toxic, sexist and altogether hostile work environments” for the cast and crew of the show, Cinema Blend reported. People running the police procedural drama opted to take Brad Kern out while investigations are ongoing, although they didn’t fire him. Instead, Kern will be a consulting producer on “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5.

This is the third time that Kern has been investigated due to these allegations, which started back in 2016. During that time, CBS launched an inquiry where the network found out Kern was involved in two separate occasions with the same issues. And now that “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5’s production is in full swing, bigwigs of the network decided to take Kern out to dig more information regarding the matter.

“NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 has been undergoing a lot of changes, both in its plotline and now on its set as well. So far, CBS hasn’t found anything yet but CBS entertainment president Kelly Kahl said that they’re expecting to receive reports soon.

The previous installment saw a major character getting killed and the department has been rocked by the loss of one of its best agents. Due to this death, “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 will have a new character replacing Sonja Percy (Shalita Grant).

It will be interesting how the showrunners are going to incorporate this new addition, who is female, according to several publications. “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 is slated to air on Sept. 25. Whether this new issue regarding Bard Kern will disrupt the quality of the show is still uncertain, but judging by how the creators handled everything in 2016, it would seem that this controversy will likely stay behind the scenes.
