Following the death of Sonja Percy (Shalita Grant) in the previous installment, showrunners will surely find it difficult to replace the unique special agent for “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5. But creators have already begun searching for likely candidates to play a new character in the fifth installment.
As of now, there’s still no word from CBS, the show’s mother network, on who their pick is but they’ve made clear it’s going to be a female character, CinemaBlend reported. Showrunners are looking for an actress who’s in her 30s and has been staying in the United States for quite a while for the new “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 role.
She is to play a character that is adept at counterterrorism and international counterintelligence. While news regarding what her exact role will be has yet to surface, it’s likely she’s going to be the replacement for Percy for “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5.
Her addition is going to be an interesting one as showrunners will have to incorporate the character into the old cast who is grieving the loss of their fellow agent. Christopher LaSalle (Lucas Black) will be the biggest wall that this new character will have to go through in “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 as he had a special connection to Percy in the previous installment.
Also, those who are worried about Patton Plame (Daryl Mitchell) not getting more screen time can rest assured that the actor will be in “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5. The apprehension comes in the wake of Mitchell joining the cast of “Fear The Walking Dead” and his schedule might interrupt his role in the fifth installment.
Fortunately, the actor has been able to fit both shows into his schedule. “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 is slated to premiere on Sept. 25 and fans of the show can’t wait for what’s in store for the well-loved characters.
