As a mockumentary about a family of diverse and colorful characters, “Modern Family” is not exactly known for featuring too many sad scenes. However, in “Modern Family” Season 10, it would seem that there is going to be a death of a significant character. The name of the character has yet to be revealed, so fans are now quite apprehensive as to the eventual fate of their favorite family members.
As Entertainment Weekly reports, this information about a coming death of a character come courtesy of co-creator Christopher Lloyd. Lloyd promises that this person is going to cause a lot of heartaches once their death occurs. Considering the acting prowess held by the show, “Modern Family” Season 10 is going to be quite the tear-jerking event.
“We’re handling some bigger life events in this season,” Lloyd said. “We do deal with a death, which is certainly a topic that families have to deal with, and on television, it’s not easy to do because that’s a heavy subject. But at the same time, it would seem unusual for a family not to go through it.”
On top of the death of a character, there is also the looming possibility that “Modern Family” Season 10 will be the last season of the show. The program’s contract expires at this point, and while there is every possibility that it will be renewed, it is always possible that it will not be.
As for possible characters who might die in “Modern Family” Season 10, many have their theories on the matter. Bustle believes that it’s going to be Delia "DeDe" Pritchett (Shelley Long) since her death would make the most sense.
Although she is not a core cast member, her death would still be a huge blow. “Modern Family” Season 10 will premiere on Sept. 26, on ABC.
