Mitsubishi Electric Corporation and HACARUS Corporation have announced they are expanding their collaboration in developing AI-based visual inspection applications for the manufacturing industry. Both companies will leverage their resources and technologies in a strategic partnership to maximize mutual potential.
Mitsubishi Electric's Equity Stake in HACARUS Sets Foundation for Success
As part of the agreement, Mitsubishi Electric said in a company press release that it will take an equity stake in HACARUS, further solidifying the collaboration. This move will provide HACARUS access to Mitsubishi Electric's extensive sales infrastructure in Japan and overseas, strengthening its market presence.
As per a BusinessWire press release, leveraging HACARUS' expertise, Mitsubishi Electric expects to accelerate the development and provision of integrated and automated AI-based visual inspection solutions. These solutions aim to improve manufacturing quality and overall productivity for customers. Automating visual inspection processes will address labor shortages and support the growing need for efficiency.
HACARUS Check: A Unique Visual-Inspection Solution
HACARUS Check is a visual inspection solution equipped with compact AI technology. In addition to AI development, HACARUS specializes in integrating AI with various factory automation (FA) devices. Mitsubishi Electric's Maisart AI Technology Revolutionizes Visual Inspection
In December 2023, Mitsubishi Electric released MELSOFT VIXIO. This AI-based visual inspection software utilizes the proprietary Maisart AI technology. The software automates visual inspection processes, significantly improving manufacturing quality. By addressing labor shortages, Mitsubishi Electric aims to meet the challenges faced by the FA systems business.
Toshie Takeuchi, Group President of Mitsubishi Electric's Factory Automation Systems Group, emphasized the importance of collaboration. With the acceleration of automation in production lines, manual visual inspections still pose challenges. This collaboration will strengthen the response to customer needs, addressing labor shortages in the manufacturing sector.
