It is almost four years since Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton announced they are breaking up their marriage. Recently, various reports are popping up reigniting the rumors at what caused them to get separated and divorced.
For one, there were rumors that Shelton’s work on “The Voice” caused a strain in their marriage. Then, in true Hollywood fashion, cheating rumors started to fly as soon as their separation was announced.
NBC’s “The Voice” premiered in April 2011 and Shelton has been a mainstay coach and judge ever since. The show’s filming location is in Universal Studios Hollywood that purportedly meant he had to spend a lot of times in California to film. On the other hand, his and Miranda’s residential properties at the time were located in Tennessee and Oklahoma.
So one of the rumored reasons why Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert’s marriage fell apart was having busy schedules and allegedly working apart in most times. "Their busy schedules were a big issue for them. They both worked a lot and had to spend a lot of time apart. The less time they spent together, the more they grew apart," a source told E! News.
There were also relentless cheating rumors. TMZ previously reported that Shelton “believed” Lambert was having an affair with country singer Chris Young, who opened for Lambert’s concert shows in 2012. But the insider added that the real cause of the divorce was Lambert’s alleged relationship with another man. Young dismissed these claims on his social media pages, “My name has been mentioned as a contributing factor in Blake and Miranda’s divorce. That is totally FALSE. They are both my friends and I would not betray that friendship.”
In a joint statement, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert announced their separation in July 2015 saying it was “not the future [they] envisioned.” In the same year, Shelton and Gwen Stefani confirmed they are dating while Lambert announced in February that she got married to NYPD Officer Brendan McLoughlin.
