Michael Schumacher: Niki Lauda Says Schumi Will Never Recover; Three-Time F1 World Drivers’ Champion Dead at 70

Michael Schumacher’s health is still a mystery. For more than five years, the F1 champ’s family never talk about his condition after his coma that resulted from his ski accident at the Alps in 2013.

Although some of Schumacher’s friends who were allowed to visit him from time to time share some update, the details of his health condition is still vague. While it was mentioned before that the racing champ is already awake and going through physical rehabilitation, there are reports that state contradicting stories after saying that Schumi is still bedridden and could not even move.

Michael Schumacher’s injuries from his skiing mishap were severe and damaged his brain to a great extent. With the severity of the damage, some said he can still recover but there were also others who are doubtful and Niki Lauda, former F1 champ and Schumi’s colleague, is one of them.

Lauda died early this week at the age of 70. According to UK’s Daily Star, before he died, the veteran racer had given his opinion on Michael Schumacher’s condition and it was a grim prediction. It was reported that Lauda saw Schumi several months after his accident and based on what he saw, he will never recover.

“I pray to God that it will all end well, but sadly it doesn’t seem that way at the moment,” the publication quoted Lauda as saying. “I believe there is someone up there trying to help in this situation. I find it completely shocking and unexplainable why this great driver (Schumacher), who won seven championships in over 300 races and stayed alive, could have something like this happen to him.”

Meanwhile, this story surfaced when Lauda passed away on Monday. In the BBC obituary, the racer was described as an athlete with unique accomplishments. He is a three-time F1 world champion and began his racing career in the 70s.
