Meghan Markle and Prince Harry officially leave their post as senior members of the royal family and Queen Elizabeth recently expressed that they support the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decision. The couple announced that they are stepping down, although they will still support Her Majesty, the Commonwealth, and serve their patronage.
The announcement that was called the “Megxit” was released last week, and this surprised the world a hundred times. Now, while many people believe that the couple did it since they hate how the media is following and projecting them, this is not the case according to reports.
The truth about their exit
People reported that the real reason for their decision to step down is due to the “bad blood” that the public never knew is happening inside the Royal Family. It was claimed that a friend of the Sussexes revealed that because of this, it has become inevitable for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to leave as they felt they are being slowly shunned in the palace.
“This is not how they wanted to handle this, but Meghan and Harry's hand was forced,” the publication quoted the supposed friend of the couple as saying. “There is so much bad blood in that family and it's toxic.”
The source further said that if things inside the palace and relationships there have been better, it would not have gotten into this situation. Likewise, he or she said that it would have been very different if there are no issues within the royal family circle. It was also alleged that Prince Harry and Meghan did not get comfort from the royals when they were badly treated by the press, and this made them feel neglected.
The Queen’s response
In a historic royal summit that took place last week, the heads of the three main royal households that consist of the Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, and Kensington Palace, held a dialogue with the private office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in an attempt to fix the problem and come up with a solution.
Although she was hurt with the “Megxit,” Queen Elizabeth accepted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to leave. She wants them to stay, but the couple is determined to be independent.
“Today, my family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family,” the official statement of Her Majesty reads. “My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family. Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.”
