A couple of new material was released in anticipation for the upcoming Netflix superhero series “Marvel’s The Defenders”
The imagery of Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Daredevil/Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Iron Fist/Danny Rand (Finn Jones) coming together culminates the number of shows Netflix has co-produced to build up what seems to be the greatest fighting group on TV: two seasons of Daredevil, and one season a piece for Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Hollywood Reporter said that while it aims to project power for a superhero team-up, the imagery appears that all four are in an exclusive club at high school you desperately want to join.
“Marvel’s The Defenders,” which will premiere all of its episodes on the streaming service August 18, will continue dealing with the crimes and issues thriving in a dark and gritty new York. All four presumably had dealt some of it in a way in their own series, first with Matt Murdock as a blind lawyer in spring 2015, then Jessica Jones as a private investigator with super-strength later that fall, and then Mike Colter as a bulletproof bartender in late 2016, and then Danny Rand as the long-lost heir of a vast empire spring this year.
On the other hand, “Marvel’s The Defenders” appears that all four will be dealing with The Hand, which has long been teased in the trailer, and several other fan-made conspiracy theories. Sigourney Weaver (Alexandra), Elodie Yung (Elektra), Scott Glenn (Stick), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Eka Darville (Malcolm Ducasse), Simone Missick (Misty Knight) and Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing) will also be featured in the series.
