adidas and Marvel Unveil Deadpool & Wolverine Themed Footwear and Apparel Collection
The upcoming “Deadpool & Wolverine” collaboration is a momentous occasion for Marvel fans and the MCU. This event is a dream come true for comic enthusiasts, as it brings together two iconic characters in a massive link-up. Recognizing this moment's historical importance, adidas is teaming up with Marvel to create themed footwear and throwback apparel that truly celebrate these beloved comic icons.
Shane Jochum, senior director of NAM strategic partnerships at adidas, said: “Bringing together these iconic franchises with Marvel Studios ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ has been an exciting collaborative journey. Our relationship with Marvel and its fans continues to unlock opportunities for us as a brand to develop products to be used in films and worn by fans as they celebrate the launches of highly anticipated films. We’re excited for fans to get their hands on this collection and see it come to life in the film this summer.”
Both antiheroes will have their colorways of the adidas Rivalry Low, a spotlight model from Germany this year. The Deadpool edition, meticulously designed, features plush, rosy suede with black detailing, speckled paint on the midsole to reflect his gory tendencies, and a leather pouch add-on mirroring his function-minded uniform.
For Wolverine, the designer stayed true to his iconic color scheme of yellow, black, and blue, which was widely celebrated before its silver screen debut. The X-Men logo appears on the tongue, and his Adamantium claws are integrated into the Three Stripes branding on the side.
adidas Expands Deadpool & Wolverine Collection with New Footwear and Apparel, Launching August 1
In addition, Wade Wilson will get another piece of footwear, the adidas adiZero Electric, which continues the motifs on the lifestyle shoe for use on the pitch. Wolverine may also receive a second style. According to Sneaker News, the final piece of this capsule is an adidas Originals silhouette worn in the film, set to be unveiled on July 26.
The collection, which also includes a set of graphic tees featuring co-branded adidas/Marvel stamps, maintains the comic-heavy themes of the capsule. The “Deadpool & Wolverine” collection, a highly anticipated release, will be available on August 1 via the adidas app, website, in-store locations, and select retailers. Pricing details will be revealed soon, adding to the excitement.
