“MacGyver” season 3 episode 15 will offer something fresh because a new character is coming in after George Eads left the show. Yes, Jack Dalton will not be around anymore and the previous episode was his last appearance as Angus MacGyver’s partner.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, the actor quit but CBS declined to comment with regards to the reason for Ead’s departure from “MacGyver” season 3. It was learned that he stormed off from the set in October 2018 even if he still has several hours of filming to complete. However, what caused the actor to act like that was not revealed up to now.
In any case, Desi Nguyen will sort of replace George Eads and she will be seen for the first time via “MacGyver” season 3 episode 15. She is Phoenix Foundation’s newcomer and she was given the tasked to assist MacGyver and keep him safe at all times.
“MacGyver” season 3 episode 15 is aptly called “15 K9 + Smugglers + New Recruit” and as per CBS press release, its synopsis reads: “After a surprising introduction to Phoenix’s newest recruit, Desi Nguyen (Levy Tran), MacGyver and team are assigned to escort and protect an ATF (alcohol, tobacco, firearms) gun-sniffing dog who has a bounty on his head, only to discover they’re not the only ones crashing the weapon drop.”
With Desi Nguyen's arrival, fans hope that she was not added to “MacGyver” season 5 as Angus’ love interest but rather someone who will really make the drama more exciting. Besides, she already showed her action moves in the promo teaser and she got what it takes to make her character a permanent fixture in the drama.
Meanwhile, aside from Desi Ngyuyen, Reign Edwards will also appear as Leanne, one of the main guests. The other supporting guest stars are Presilah Nunez (ATF Mario Satio), Ryan Czerwonko (Lead Smuggler), Tahj Vaughan (Smuggler), Michel Curiel (Smuggler), Ashlee Heath (Mom), David Vaughn (Dad) and Kinsley Isla Dillon (little girl). “MacGyver” season 5 episode 15 was written by Rob Pearlstein and directed by Gabriel Beristain.
“MacGyver” season 3 episode 15 will air on Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. on CBS TV Network. See the preview below:
