Fans of the Major League Baseball (MLB) have many trade rumors to go through this weekend. One that has many followers talking is the purported plans of the New York Mets to move Edwin Diaz and Noah Syndergaard.
There is no surprise with the influx of MLB trade rumors in the coming days. Teams only have until Wednesday, July 31, at 4 p.m. ET to finalize deals with other franchises involving players they might be hoping to move this regular season.
Mets to move Diaz following losing streak
ESPN’s Jeff Passan said the Mets had brought Diaz to the MLB trade market not simply to remove him from the team. The organization sees the possible offers for Diaz an opportunity to salvage their standing this season, currently at 2 wins-7 losses, in the hopes of inviting pleasing offers that could land them players more suitable for the team.
When asked about the possibility of being traded, Diaz told the New York Daily News a few weeks ago that he has not thought about it that much yet. However, he admitted to not feeling great how his last few games have turned out in the early goings of the current MLB season. The 25-year-old pitcher is currently averaging 39.1 innings pitched, 61 strikeouts, and 1.424 walks plus hits per inning pitched (WHIP).
Syndergaard invites several interested parties
Another report from Buster Olney claims that the Mets are also open to hearing offers for Syndergaard. This is a little bit more interesting because other sources are mentioning some MLB teams have actually shown interest in acquiring the Mets pitcher.
About the Mets: If they trade Syndergaard -- and they are seriously listening -- then they should move Diaz as well, and try to do the sort of re-set and focus on young players that would've made sense last winter.

The New York Post reported scouts from at least six MLB teams attended the Mets and San Diego Padres game on Wednesday specifically to check out Syndergaard. Those organizations reportedly present were the NY Yankees, Phillies, Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Tampa Bay Rays.
Do not count the A’s out if Syndergaard is available. Exactly the splashy kind of move Billy Beane likes to make every 5 years or so and the A’s would be one of the teams with the prospects to do it. https://t.co/ksCFAptINT

Syndergaard is aware of the MLB trade rumors that could have its conclusion by next week. However, based on his statements, he does not seem to be keen on the idea of leaving his current team. He told the Post that there is also not much discussion between him and the management but added that he is looking forward to staying.
