Mantle Network is an L2 scalability solution built on top of Ethereum. It is a technology stack for scaling Ethereum. Mantle Network has a modular architecture combining an optimistic roll-up protocol with an innovative data availability solution.
The validator nodes collect user transactions and commit them to Ethereum as a "compressed block". This compression saves users expensive gas fees and increases the total possible transaction throughput.
Optimistic Rollups (ORs) are Layer-2 (L2) protocols designed to increase the throughput of Ethereum. They reduce the computation load on the main Ethereum chain by taking computation and state storage off-chain and processing transactions in batches.
Transaction fees on Mantle Network work similar to fees on Ethereum. As Mantle network is a Layer 2 (L2) blockchain, there are new paradigms in the fee structure that cause it to differ from Ethereum's fee.
Mantle's execution layer provides an EVM-compatible environment for transaction execution where the sequencer produces blocks on L2 and sends state root data to L1.
Consensus and settlement take place on L1 Ethereum
Consensus and settlement take place on Layer 1 Ethereum. The sequencer produces blocks on L2. The validator nodes collect transactions from users and commit them to Ethereum in the form of a "compressed block" which reduces the gas fees and increases throughput.
