When “Lucifer Season 4” came out several weeks ago, fans of the show absolutely exploded with excitement. In fact, many binge-watched all 10 episodes in one sitting and are now clamoring for “Lucifer” Season 5. As of now, there are no relevant details coming out of Netflix in an official capacity. However, this might change on or before June 8.
In a recent interview, co-showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich told TV Line that Netflix would tell them if “Lucifer” Season 5 was happening within a month following season 4’s release. That deadline is almost here, so whether the show is getting axed or not will be revealed by then. Then again, based on their reactions from the fan response to the most recent season, things are going well.
“They’ll hopefully let us know within a month [by June 8]. That tends to be how they do things with first-season shows, that they will hopefully let everyone know within a month. The bingeing and all the fan support helps with that,” Modrovich said.
“To that point, the fan support is super-important, and in particular the [first] month is going to be crucial towards whether or not we get a Season 5, because they are paying attention,” Henderson added.
So, there it is. Anyone who wants to watch “Lucifer” Season 5 will need to support “Lucifer” Season 4 with all their might. Word of mouth is going to be crucial here, and posts on social media will certainly be of great help.
If ever “Lucifer” Season 5 does end up happening, it would seem that the opening sequence has already been conceptualized even before season 4 was released. This means that the showrunners have been betting on there being a fifth season from the get-go. Perhaps it will be renewed, after all.
