Many details about “Lost in Space” season 2 are still under wraps including its official release date. But there are speculations that the show might return this fall.

The filming of “Lost in Space” season 2 has supposedly wrapped up by now. However, there is still more work to be done in post-production as the show uses heavy CGI and video effects to make the outer space setting feel and look as real as possible. This could take several more months to finish and Screen Rant suggests the show might not return until September.

On the other hand, Digital Spy also welcomes the possibility that Netflix might decide to wait on the show’s pilot anniversary to release “Lost in Space” season 2. This means the continuation of the Robinson family’s quest will not happen until April 2020.

The first season ended with a huge cliffhanger but with the same message: the Robinsons are still in danger. It can be recalled that shortly after they were reunited with the other space colonists in The Resolute, they were suddenly brought to another unfamiliar location along with Dr. Smith (Parker Posey). “Lost in Space” season 2 will most likely open with introducing the new habitat.

The said planet is as foreign to the Robinsons as it is to fans. However, the reported filming locations for “Lost in Space” season 2 might give away some hints of what the next environments will look like.

Viewers should expect scenic views of bodies of water. The crew of “Lost in Space” season 2 reportedly secured a permit to film in a couple of locations in Iceland namely the popular Skógafoss waterfall and on a beach in Dyrhólaey last September.

There is also a chance of seeing the Robinsons dealing with dinosaur-looking creatures in “Lost in Space” season 2. The cast and crew also reportedly shot scenes in the Alberta Badlands. It is widely known for its iconic rock formations and experts believe it used to be the home of real dinosaurs as well.
