‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2’s episode 15, titled “Fellowship of the Spear,” teases the return of a former teammate. The team will travel back in time to World War I in order to destroy the powerful spear while attempting to fight off the temptation to use it for their purposes.
The synopsis for “Fellowship of the Spear” posted on TV Guide reads, “The Legends devise a plan to retrieve the last remaining fragments of the Spear of Destiny from the Legion of Doom when they find themselves in France at the height of World War I and faced with the knowledge that they must destroy the mystical object.
They enlist the help of a soldier named John Ronald Reuel Tolkin (Jack Turner) and learn that the Spear is leading them into the heart of the war. Meanwhile, the team must all resist the temptation of the Spear; and a former teammate returns.”
In the previous episode, titled "Moonshot," the team managed to retrieve a piece of the spear hidden in the flag planted on the moon by none other than the iconic astronaut Neil Armstrong. With the spear intact, the team will take on a greater challenge by attempting to destroy the powerful yet dangerous relic before it falls into the wrong hands, specifically the evil Legion of Doom. They will also need to resist the strong pull of the spear.
As the team goes on a mission to destroy the relic, they will enlist the help of a soldier named John Ronald Reuel Tolkin. Meanwhile, a former teammate is set to return. According to Moviepilot, it is speculated that Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) could make his reappearance.
Captain Cold sacrificed his life to save the team back in season 1 when he blew the Vanishing Point to pieces. His death affected all his teammates, especially Heat Wave. However, it seems that Captain Cold may have returned from the dead and even joined the villainous Legion of Doom.
‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2’s episode 15, titled “Fellowship of the Spear,” is scheduled to air on The CW on March 21, 2017. It was directed by Ben Bray and written by Keto Shimizu and Matthew Maala. It will be followed by episode 16, titled "Doomworld," scheduled to be released on March 28 and directed by Mairzee Almas.
