‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2’s episode 14, titled “Moonshot,” follows the team as they head to the NASA headquarters in pursuit of the Spear of Destiny. This will lead to their involvement in the agency’s iconic Apollo 13 mission. Meanwhile, Ray will find himself in danger when he is stranded on the moon following Waverider malfunction.
The synopsis for episode 14 posted on TV Guide reads, “The Legends track Commander Steel (Matthew MacCaull) to NASA headquarters in 1970 and learn where Nate's (Nick Zano) grandfather hid the last fragment of the Spear of Destiny.
They also notice a time aberration during the Apollo 13 mission and believe the Legion of Doom might be involved. As the Legends journey into space to intercept Apollo 13, the Waverider suffers massive internal damage and Ray's (Brandon Routh) life is left in jeopardy when he is stranded on the moon.”
The upcoming episode will feature the team and their nemesis the Legion of Doom heading to the dark side of the moon as they pursue the Spear of Destiny, a powerful biblical artifact that is believed to have the capability to alter reality itself. It was the spear used to pierce the side of Jesus Christ during His crucifixion.
The team is set to discover the location where Nate’s grandfather hid the last fragment of the Spear of Destiny. They will also find out about a time aberration during the Apollo 13 mission that leads them to suspect that the Legion of Doom may be the ones behind it.
Promotional photographs posted on Spoilers Guide reveal the impending chaos that is about to ensue during the mission coinciding with Apollo 13’s iconic moon landing. It was also hinted that Ray’s life will be in danger after he is left stranded on the moon following damage on the Waverider.
Meanwhile, it seems that tension will continue to strain the team as they are torn between Rip and Sara (Caity Lotz) as team leader.
‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2’s episode 14, titled “Moonshot,” is scheduled to air on The CW on March 14, 2017. It was directed by Kevin Mock and written by Grainne Godfree. It will be followed by episode 15, titled "Fellowship of the Spear," directed by Ben Bray and scheduled to be released on March 21.
