Lee Min Ho returned from the army last month and not even a month past after that he already announced his comeback via a new drama. But this work project is not just the only thing that made him busy, but he has gone back to donating as well.
According to Sports Chosun, Min Ho and his fans resume their donation campaigns to share something for those in need. Through, PROMIZ, the actor and his fans’ donation platform, they raised funds for the children in Jinan, Jeolla province.
The actor and his fans’ donations benefitted children from 12 regional centers, and that is around 337 kids. 55 children were also selected and won special Children’s Day gifts. In any case, the child care centers in local communities are facilities where children whose families were unable to support them get the welfare help that they need.
It was stated that Lee Min Ho and his fan club Minoz raised funds from selling local products made from Jinan. Thus, aside from raising donation money, they were also able to help the local retailers by promoting their wares. As per Soompi, all the gift sets sold under the “Sharing PROMIZ’s Sincerity with Jinan’s Children” campaign were completely sold out.
It was learned that the fundraising and donation were also part of celebrating Min Ho’s fan club’s 10th anniversary this year. With what they made, through PROMIZ, they were able to give out 1.5 tons of rice and 300 kilos of kimchi, which helped the community centers in feeding children in their areas.
Lee Min Ho’s PROMIZ is a combination of the words “Promise” and his fan club MINOZ. It is a fundraising platform that was launched in 2016, and it aimed to help those in need, especially the children. The actor formed this group after surviving two car accidents and realizing he needs to give back to the community by creating a support system for struggling people.
PROMIZ’s active participation in the charity scene was also recognized by the Korea Good Brand as they are also one of the regular contributors of UNICEF Korea. They are also supporting people in South Africa by campaigning for clean water supply.
Meanwhile, Lee Min Ho will be back to his regular work as an actor. He will be starring as the lead in “The King: The Eternal Monarch” and his leading lady would be “Goblin” actress Kim Go Eun. Amid his charity works and upcoming filming, the actor is also battling malicious comments, and his agency is taking legal actions to stop the cyber bullies that have been mentally torturing the star.
