AUSTIN, Texas, July 26, 2017 -- Orca (orcaconfig.com), a leading innovator in software configuration management, drift detection, and release automation, today announced it has further simplified the usability of its solution by adding “one-click” application updates and has added support for Docker containers.
With “One-Click” updates, users can compare two application environments, view the configuration differences between the two, and selectively apply the configurations from one to the other with a single click – a major time-saver. With container support, Orca adds governance to containers, giving IT operations teams unprecedented visibility and control over changes to their Docker environments. Orca also automatically detects and alerts IT teams to non-compliant container states.
And because it provides visibility, drift detection, and audit for datacenter, cloud, and container environments from a single solution, Orca makes it possible to manage container based apps and legacy apps from a single pane of glass, enabling hybrid application approaches and accelerating the adoption of containers into Production. https://www.orcaconfig.com/container-state-visibility-compliance/.
“Containers can greatly accelerate the speed of updating and deploying applications, but they can also break change management processes designed to protect the security, compliance, and availability of production environments,” said Timothy Wall, CEO of Orca. “With Orca you get the best of both worlds – the speed and flexibility of containers plus the added safety and reliability of Orca’s unified configuration management and release automation platform.”
Also new in Orca 3.5:
Newly enhanced interface to manage and automate IBM MQ configurations. In addition to its built-in integrations to middleware such as WebSphere Application Server, IIS and MS MQ, Orca now manages IBM MQ. Admins can use Orca to create and delete queue managers, queues, topics, subscriptions, channels and listeners.
More detail on “One-Click” change promotion:
Before its 3.5 release, Orca had a handy “Compare Results” section where users created recurring configuration comparison jobs. These reports simplified and accelerated environmental or point-in-time comparisons. With “One Click Change Promotion” in Orca 3.5, you can now use these comparison results to apply configurations from one environment to another – a major time-saver.
