La La and Carmelo Anthony are currently making a buzz on the web as their marriage appears to be heading into divorce territories. A representative of the actress recently came forward and provided a glimpse where the couple currently stands.
It turns out that La La and Carmelo Anthony have been living separately for a while, that’s why the former is looking to explore her legal options to see where the relationship will evolve next. It’s important to understand, however, that the aforementioned rep didn’t mention divorce in the statement.
Lala, Carmelo Anthony not divorcing yet
But with how everything is shaping up, there is a possibility that the pair is headed towards that direction. This is especially true when factored in La La’s statement when she visited “The Wendy Williams Show.” In a nutshell, the actress said that she and Carmelo Anthony aren’t planning to divorce “right now,” PEOPLE reported.
The main reason driving this sentiment is due to La La wanting to set an example for their son, Kiyan, 12. She also said that despite her relations with Carmelo Anthony standing on flimsy grounds, she still considers the NBA star as an amazing father.
As for the reason behind the fallout, cheating is rumored to be the culprit. La La and Carmelo Anthony initially had trouble in 2017 but reunited last year to co-parent the 12-year-old. However, when footage made its round on the web recently showing the NBA icon with a model on a yacht, the whole situation took a nosedive yet again, Page Six reported.
Lala, Carmelo Anthony will continue to co-parent Kiyan
“The only reason I’m addressing this is because this is affecting my family now and you got me out here looking crazy. Usually, I won’t address this, but I had to address this … Can’t let this one slide, because this shit ain’t cool no more,” Carmelo Anthony said following the revelation. Although the 35-year-old maintains that he was on a business trip with a couple, it seems that La La isn’t buying the story judging by how everything is shaping up.
Of course, Lala and Carmelo Anthony will still continue to co-parent their son amidst all of these. Troubled as they are, their love for Kiyan still remains the anchor that’s keeping both of them from spiraling out of control. Hopefully, they find solace soon as everyone knows how damaging a divorce process is.
