Rapper Kanye West has been recently caught up in a string of controversial political statements on Twitter and live shows. But his wife, Kim Kardashian, said she always believed her husband has the “best heart.”
Kardashian recently appeared on “The Messy Truth with Van Jones,” where she tackled the said controversies linked to her husband. In a nutshell, the reality star explained that West, though a well-known music artist, “might not be the best communicator.”
"Look, I always say this: It takes him about four years to write a song to communicate what he wants to say,” Kardashian said about West. “So when he tweets something in two seconds what's going on in his mind, and what he thinks and what he's trying to say … he has the best heart and I know what he means.”
Kardashian further explained that West has a different interpretation and message in mind when it comes to Trump’s rallying call, “Make America Great Again.” The KKW Beauty boss said her husband has been “very mindful” that MAGA has had a different meaning to other people. “But what it means to him is something totally different, and I trust in him that he will explain that in his own way," said Kardashian.
However, West expressed on Tuesday his intention to refrain from making statements about politics. “My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative,” said Kardashian’s beau on Twitter.
West previously faced widespread criticisms after implying that being a slave was a choice. “You hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years?! That sounds like a choice,” Kardashian’s husband said in a live TMZ interview earlier this year.
In late September, West tweeted a selfie while wearing the MAGA hat and called to “abolish the 13th amendment” — the part of the United States Constitution that made slavery illegal. A few hours later, West posted another tweet saying he meant only to “amend” the said law.
