A breakup rumor spread by tabloids and online channels was recently proven wrong by Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx as the two were recently spotted together in New York. In a breakdown by People, Holmes and Foxx seemed to have had a dinner date at the Asian fusion restaurant Tao.
Historically, the couple has been discreet about their relationship, which first came under public scrutiny in 2013, when Holmes and Foxx were seen dancing together to “Blurred Lines” during the fourth annual Apollo in the Hamptons. This was after Katie Holmes's split with “Mission Impossible” hero Tom Cruise back in 2012. While recent sightings of the two together have been common since 2013, Holmes and Foxx have never publicly declared themselves a couple.
The couple has been so stringent about how they prefer their privacy that Jamie Foxx even walked out of an ESPN live broadcast just because Sportcenter's Michael Smith asked Foxx about Valentine's Day basketball pictures of him and Katie Holmes. While the ESPN program continued, with Jamie Foxx sharing the court with young pop star Justin Bieber, the event made the headlines due to the very abrupt way Foxx handled the situation.
More recently, the pair was embroiled in a rumor that they had planned a wedding together but called it off. This rumor was shot down by Holmes's publicist, Leslie Sloane. While it does not seem like the couple is planning anything big such as a wedding, neither are there drastic signs that Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are having issues and splitting up anytime soon.
The characteristically quiet nature of the couple's relationship may be tied to Holmes herself, who had a particularly quiet split with Cruise. Reliable details of the ex-couple's divorce are hard to come by despite the very public nature of their relationship leading up to the divorce.
