Kate Middleton, Prince William divorce: Will the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge call it quits? Here’s what will happen if they split

Kate Middleton and Prince William

Kate Middleton and Prince William have been embroiled in divorce rumors, and the latest news was that the two are calling it quits after the latter cheated on his wife. The third-party was also identified, and Rose Hanbury is being blamed for the supposed damaging of the royal couple’s marriage.

Prince William’s affair was denied, and Hanbury even attended an event at the Buckingham Palace in June, so the cheating rumors died down a bit. William and Kate also appeared together in public, and they seem fine, and royal watchers predicted that their marriage would last.

Will Prince William and Kate’s marriage last?

Many royal observers think that the couple’s marriage will last and the two of them will eventually become the king and queen in the British Monarch. In the American question-and-answer website, this question was asked, and one person named Anni Shelby said that she doesn’t see it happening at all.

“They have everything they could ever need,” she explained. “They have a beautiful family and they clearly have a lot of fun and laugh together a lot. If you're alluding to the person on Twitter who began all the rumors about an affair between William and a family friend, then you should know that she has already admitted that she made it all up.”

She added that there is no sign that Prince William and Kate Middleton are on the verge of divorce. Shelby said that married couples could have issues, but it doesn't always end in divorce.

What will happen if the royal couple really divorce

In case, Prince William and his wife file for divorce, several things will happen, and it includes the Duchess receiving a new home where she and her kids can reside. The prince must also provide financial support just like the commoners, but how much she will get depends on how long they have been married.

Like Princess Diana, she will be stripped off her royal title. She will lose “Her Royal Highness” title and will simply be called, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Lastly, Prince William and Kate Middleton can opt to remarry once their divorce is finalized. However, they can only wed in churches outside of the Church of England since Queen Elizabeth is also the head of the church in the U.K.
