McWin Food Ecosystem Fund has become the majority shareholder of Burger King in Germany, where it seeks to grow significantly and innovate while supporting the company’s efforts to achieve a more sustainable product offering
The fund acquired BAUM Unternehmensgruppe’s stake in Burger King Deutschland GmbH, the company’s master franchisee in Germany.
Burger King Deutschland GmbH has a portfolio of 110 restaurants.
According to Henry McGovern, co-creator of McWin Food Ecosystem Fund, their acquisition we have expanded our global portfolio in the restaurant industry to include a major player that has recognized early on many of the changes in the fast-food world and has set new standards, procedures, and products
He added that Burger King can play a leading role in shaping the market and defining new culinary trends in Germany.
McWin Food Ecosystem Fund seeks to raise the Burger King brand in the country to the next level by focusing on opportunities for growth, such as developing new locations, supporting the demand for alternative meats, redoubling the commitment to delivery services, and improving the digital experience.
