‘Justice League’ director Zack Snyder recently shared a new photograph of Ben Affleck’s modern Batsuit. Meanwhile, Jared Leto’s Joker will not be appearing in the upcoming film despite rumors of the actor’s involvement.
According to DC Comics, Snyder shared the first ever image of Affleck in his upgraded tactical at Batsuit as he returns to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman.
Snyder took to Twitter to showcase a brooding Batman standing beside the equally dark Batmobile. The director captioned the September 15 post with, “Homestretch. Last day filming Batman in the new Tactical Batsuit. #JusticeLeague #Batman.” The suit looked like a modern and more hard-edged upgrade of Batman’s traditional costume.
Affleck is set to reprise his role as Batman after first appearing as the iconic DC superhero in Snyder’s ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’. He starred alongside Henry Cavill, who plays Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman, as well as Gal Gadot, who was introduced into the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) as Diana Prince a.k.a. Wonder Woman.
Snyder’s film received generally negative reviews from critics and fans alike and was deemed a financial disappointment following its release on March 2016. According to Box Office Mojo, domestic box office figures revealed that the film received $330.36 million. In total, it earned $872.66 million worldwide against a production budget of $250 million.
Affleck is also set to direct, write, and produce a yet untitled upcoming standalone film for Batman in addition to reprising his role as the title character. He will be joined in the new cast by Joe Manganiello, who is set to portray Deathstroke.
Meanwhile, it was reported by /Film that Jared Leto’s villainous Joker will not be appearing in the upcoming ‘Justice League’ film. The iconic DC villain was last seen in David Ayer’s ‘Suicide Squad’. Speculation of Leto’s involvement emerged when he was spotted in London, where the cast and crew of ‘Justice League’ were also filming.
‘Justice League’ is an upcoming action-adventure and fantasy film scheduled to be released on November 17, 2017. It is directed by Zack Snyder and written by Chris Terrio and is intended as the fifth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). It follows the release of Patty Jenkins’ ‘Wonder Woman’.
The film is produced by DC Comics, DC Entertainment, RatPac-Dune Entertainment LLC, Lensberg Productions and Warner Bros.
