Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck had been together for 10 years before deciding to go their separate ways. Last year, the “Alias” alum wanted to make their separation official and filed for divorce.
Fast forward to today and the case has yet to be resolved. What’s more, it seems that the divorce of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck might not be happening after all, Marie Claire reported.
The cause for this isn’t that the ex-couple is going to rekindle their previous relationship. Rather, it’s because Jennifer Garner has yet to provide the L.A. County Superior Court with the proper divorce documents. As of now, it’s still unclear what’s causing Ben Affleck’s ex-partner to delay the submission, and the camps of both sides remain reticent about the whole situation.
The court has sent Jennifer Garner a third notice for a case review slated for this Friday, warning the “Elektra” actress that the case might be thrown out if the judgment is not submitted soon. The “13 Going on 30” star has been successfully co-parenting her children with Ben Affleck, putting aside their differences and prioritizing the well-being of their kids.
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have taken their three children to vacation together, attended church, and taken them to plays. Perhaps this is the reason for the “Catch and Release” star’s delay, that somewhere deep inside her she’s still hoping they’ll get back together?
Or perhaps she’s simply busy promoting her upcoming film “Peppermint,” which is scheduled for release next month. In it, Jennifer Garner will star as a mother seeking vengeance against those who killed her husband and daughter. Meanwhile, Ben Affleck is currently shooting his new movie “The Last Thing He Wanted.”
Another reason for the delay is that perhaps the ex-couple just wants their divorce to conclude as fairly as they can make it. Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck did not sign a prenuptial agreement when they decided to tie the knot, which compels them to split their earnings 50/50 unless new negotiations are agreed upon.
Whatever the cause for the delay, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck aren’t commenting on the matter. But as the court already gave a warning to Garner to submit the necessary paperwork, the actress should act hastily before the divorce case is dismissed entirely. If it does, then she’ll have to re-file the case, which will prolong the process further.
