‘Jeepers Creepers 4’ News: Is the Movie Canceled? Script is Ready - Here’s Possible Reason for the Long Delay

“Jeepers Creepers 4” revealed to be on the way in 2017 after it was reported that its director, Victor Silva, has been planning to make a sequel. The interest in the movie franchise has grown as well so the likelihood that it will arrive is quite high.

Moreover, Gina Philips (Trish Jenner), one of the main stars of the horror flick revealed to Diabolique that she will still be on “Jeepers Creepers 4.” She also shared some spoilers like the use of flashbacks in the upcoming movie. The actress explained that this is necessary for the viewers to know how some parts of the story arrived in certain situations in the present time.

“Victor has written what happens from the second after the conclusion of Jeepers Creepers 3,” she said. “I got to see what will eventually happen to the character and he put enough flashbacks in there that I got to see what happened to her over the last 15 years.”

It should be noted that while “Jeepers Creepers” has not been officially confirmed yet, Philips’ statements clearly say that there will be a fourth film. In fact, the actress also said, “There's more to come and a lot has changed for Trish over the years. She's a mother; she's been through a lot."

But then again, it has been two years and there is still no update about the movie, is it really coming? The script for “Jeepers Creepers 4” is ready as per Movie Web and it is likely been just delayed. There are many reasons for this and the main one is director Victor Silva’s brush with the law.

There were petitions to boycott the “Jeepers Creepers” movies since its director/writer has been convicted of sexual misconduct with a minor. Although this happened in 1988, some citizens see it improper for Silva to work behind the camera for his offenses. They said in the petition that, “Monsters belong on the screen, not behind the camera.”

Petitioners have also urged moviegoers not to watch the flick and although the first three sequels were released, the fourth one may still be experiencing some issues in connection with Silva’s past conviction so the production of “Jeepers Creepers 4” is not progressing as expected.
