Recently on “Jane The Virgin,” we saw our heroine Jane Gloriana Villanueva experienced another transition in her life: unabashedly embracing her desires to seek out a fling with one of her father’s co-stars (Francisco San Martin). The Los Angeles Times interviewed actress Gina Rodriguez, who played Jane, about this development, who said this was acceptable considering the fact the show had a three-year time jump from the death of her husband, Michael (Brett Dier).
“I really appreciated the time jump because … it allows us to have story to go back to those three years — to flash back, to see a part of Jane and how she arrived to where she is now. Which is a little more cynical, less naive, a little less enraptured by love and figuring out her sexuality in terms of being comfortable in her skin and wanting to have sex outside of a marriage. … When I started ‘Jane,’ I was 28, 29 playing a 22-year-old. Now I’m able to play this 27-year-old a little closer to the life that I live and that I lead,” Rodriguez said.
Another development fans are also curious about is the show’s narrator. Usually, the narrator who guides viewers in a TV show is the hero/heroine, it is also most likely that the narrator is a close associate to the hero/heroine of the story. TVLine said the identity of the narrator, nonetheless, will be revealed soon.
Executive producer Jennie Urman said, “There are hints throughout… [The narrator will be ID’d] at the end of the series. [The big moment is] part of the last two scenes.”
