‘Jane The Virgin’ season 3’s episode 9, titled “Chapter Fifty-Three,” will follow Darci and Rogelio attempt to become a couple. However, Darci will doubt a possible relationship with the telenovela star after seeing his interaction with ex-fiancée Xo.
The synopsis for episode 9 posted on TV Guide reads, “Mateo (Aria Rose Garcia) falls behind other kids his age, so Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) grow concerned about his development.
Meanwhile, Jane is nervous about submitting her novel; Michael (Brett Dier) stresses out about his test; and Darci's (guest star Justina Machado) uncertain about a potential relationship with Rogelio (Jaime Camil).”
It seems that Rogelio’s hopes for his own happy ending may once again be dashed after Darci is unsure of their possible relationship when she sees how he interacts with ex-fiancée Xiomara Villanueva (Andrea Navedo), according to Christian Post. Darci is the matchmaker Rogelio visited when he needed help in looking for a woman to father his child in “Chapter Fifty-One.” However, the famous telenovela star decided that he wanted Darci after all.
Darci is portrayed by Justina Machado on the series. Machado is best known for her work on the HBO drama series ‘Six Feet Under,’ NBC’s medical drama series ‘ER,’ and ABC’s medical drama ‘Private Practice.’ She also plays the main role in USA Network’s drama-thriller series ‘Queen of the South’ and Netflix’s sitcom ‘One Day At A Time.’
The promo hints at a less than romantic dinner date between Rogelio and Darci. Rogelio’s over-the-top flirtation seems to be rubbing Darci the wrong way. Her mood swings may be the effect of her jealousy over Rogelio and Xo’s relationship.
Rogelio attempts to seduce his date with a pick-up line saying, “I am always ravenous at your lovemaking,” and proceeds to sip his drink. Darci doesn’t look to amused and retorts, “Darci rule number 12: Never lay it on too thick. It makes you look desperate.”
Rogelio is taken aback and asks her with an exaggerated pained expression on his face, “Why are you being so critical?” She replies, “You need to know exactly who I am.” Rogelio exclaims, “Not all at once!”
Meanwhile, Jane and Michael will be struggling with their own problems. Jane will be pressured into turning in a perfect novel while Michael is anxious over passing his upcoming test. Jane and Rafael will also worry over their son Mateo after realizing that he is developing slower than other children his age.
‘Jane The Virgin’ season 3’s episode 9, titled “Chapter Fifty-Three,” is expected to air on The CW on January 30, 2017.
