Ja Morant’s Nike Ja 2 "Induction" colorway is set to release on September 26th, featuring a sleek design with TPU sidewalls. Meanwhile, the Serena Williams Design Crew returns with the Nike Victory Tech, a lifestyle model with tennis-inspired elements, set to launch soon.
Nike Ja 2 ‘Induction’ Debuts September 26th with Bold Design and Full-Length TPU Sidewalls
In celebration of Ja Morant’s induction into the Murray State Hall of Fame this summer, Nike gifted the Memphis Grizzlies star with a special edition of his next signature shoe, giving fans the first official look at the Nike Ja 2 ahead of its Fall 2024 release. Since then, new colorways have surfaced, including Halloween and Christmas themes. However, with the NBA season approaching, the model is set to debut in the “Induction” colorway, first spotted in July.
According to Sneaker News, the Nike Ja 2 “Induction” stands out as the only colorway featuring full-length TPU sidewalls, creating a sleek aesthetic compared to other variations that opt for leather and suede panels. The design features a periwinkle and yellow mix on the sidewalls, with slash-like detailing adding a three-dimensional effect. Text reading “Midnight Series” appears on the lateral heel, while purple tones on the tongue and toe box complement the rest of the shoe.
The Nike Ja 2 “Induction” is set to release on September 26th for $130 in men’s sizes and is expected to be the first colorway available in stores.
Serena Williams Design Crew Unveils the Nike Victory Tech, Blending Tennis Style with Lifestyle Appeal
The Serena Williams Design Crew, established in 2021, continues collaborating with emerging designers to create footwear and apparel for Nike’s tennis icon. Following a quieter year after the release of the Serena Williams Air Max 1 in March, the group is now gearing up for a new collection.
At the forefront is the Victory Tech, a model that borrows the sole from the Tech Hera but introduces a fresh design on the upper. The all-white shoe features a leather mudguard, TPU arch, mesh forefoot, and a Huarache-style nylon collar. Unique Serena Williams details include a metallic gold dubrae, matching Swoosh logos, and motivational quotes on the inner tongues. Despite its tennis-inspired look, the shoe is categorized as a lifestyle model.
On Nike's website, the Nike Victory Tech is listed as “coming soon.” At launch, women’s sizes and a retail price of $120 are expected.
