Those who have been waiting for a glimpse into the new horrific adventures to come in “IT Chapter 2” will get what they want in just two days’ time. A trailer for the terrifying film will likely come out in that time simply because it coincides with the “Pet Sematary” premiere date. As another Stephen King book adaptation that also happens to be a reboot of an old movie, the tie-in is inevitable.
As OtakuKart reports, the trailer for “IT Chapter 2” is expected to come out in just a few days, definitely before the premiere of “Pet Sematary.” The reason for this being the matter of priming viewers to watch both movies and having them reinforce each other’s horror appeal. A lot of this has to do with the author of the two films’ source materials.
Both the upcoming resurrection scare fest and the flick featuring a truly frightening interdimensional clown are based on books written by Stephen King. As the undisputed king of literary horror, the writer has enjoyed a ton of success in the movie adaptation business. Among the most successful are these two movies coming out as well as their classic counterparts. This is why the trailer for “IT Chapter 2” is almost certain to be released within two days.
These two movies basically have the same target audience and with one being months away from premiering, it only makes sense that marketers would want to prime them now. “Pet Sematary” is coming out on June 5, which means that the “IT Chapter 2” trailer should come out before or during that date. It might even be aired as a preview clip right before the actual movie starts.
As for “IT Chapter 2” itself, the premiere date for the sequel to the best horror movie of 2017 is Sept. 5. With these two films supporting each other, success is more likely to be achieved.
