“Hunter x Hunter” is one of those manga and anime properties that keep fans guessing as to what would happen first. Will the manga reach a proper end before the author bites the dust or will it be the other way around? This is because the creator of the manga, Yoshihiro Togashi, is known for having poor health. This has led to multiple instances of hiatuses, such as the one that was recently announced. Unfortunately for fans, this might be it for “Hunter x Hunter” despite the author’s assurances.
To absolutely no one’s surprise, “Hunter x Hunter” is once again going on hiatus and it is because of Togashi’s failing health. Although he did offer some assurance that the storyboards for several chapters have already been finished, this is of little comfort to readers. After all, there have been many instances in which stories never saw an end because their authors passed before reaching their conclusions.
This is now the fear with regards to “Hunter x Hunter” and Togashi, with fans being torn between feeling anxious about the manga and wanting the author to be in good health. This is understandable since there have been multiple instances where fans rode a rollercoaster of emotions regarding the fate of the series.
No one likes to feel like they are being jerked around, especially when it comes to something that they truly love. For many fans of “Hunter x Hunter,” the multiple reports of cancellations, hiatuses, and Togashi’s health troubles feels exactly like they are being taken for a ride. While it’s good that there are already storyboards in place, it isn’t likely that the story can be concluded with what is currently available.
To this end, the most ideal situation would be for Togashi to rest until he can recover and work on “Hunter x Hunter” once again. Fans will simply have to be patient.
