A new report claims Huawei is aiming to offer a brand-new Vision headset, challenging Apple in the Virtual Reality race. Eventually, the Chinese IT behemoth will explore every category while concentrating on the smartphone market.
Insight on Upcoming Vision Headset: A Glimpse Into Apple and Huawei's Latest Endeavor
Li Nan, Meizu's former marketing director, recently posted on Weibo with insight into the rumored Apple and Huawei Vision headset, which could come later this year. The Chinese company is expected to call it "Vision Pro."
Notably, Huawei registered a trademark for this name in China in 2019. The name also refers to several things, including smart TVs and glasses. The tech company may adopt a new moniker while launching its VR headset device in China.
Meanwhile, the Apple Vision Pro may use an R1 chipset and a Sony micro-LED with 4K resolution. With a weight of 600 grams, it will enhance EyeSight functionality.
When Will Huawei Vision Pro Be Available?
According to the post, Li has not stated the release date for the new Huawei Vision Pro headset. However, he stated that Sony will need around six months to prepare its screen and distribute it to manufacturers. As a result, we should expect the official reveal by the end of the year.
Huawei also offers a virtual screen called Vision Glass, which employs an air capsule and nose cushions that users can adjust to three locations based on their preferences. It has twin Micro OLED panels with a single screen size of 0.49 inches and a binocular HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels).
