Having high blood pressure or being hypertensive could put you at risk of heart disease and stroke, two of the leading causes of death.
While those who are over the age of 65 are at high risk of getting high blood pressure, the condition does affect all ages.
Other factors that make you at risk of getting hypertension are being overweight, heredity, poor diet, lack of exercise, and poor lifestyle.
Ideal blood pressure is between 90/60mmHg and 120/80mmHg while a 140/90mmHg reading is a warning sign.
Although each person's blood pressure differs as what could be a high reading for you could be just normal to others.
Drinking this juice on a regular basis could lower your risk of developing hypertension.
Adding a glass of cherry juice to your diet is one of the natural ways to remedy high blood pressure. It is also one of the most effective, according to Dr. Sarah Brewer, a nutritionist.
Brewer told the Daily Express that the antioxidants known as polyphenols, which the cherry juice is rich in, will greatly benefit those who are hypertensive. This because polyphenols will help in dilating the blood vessels and improving aerial elasticity.
In just an hour after drinking the cherry juice, your blood pressure will be reduced and the effect could last up to eight hours.
And, if you snack on cherries, the greater are the benefits. You can add the cherries to your yogurt, fruit salad or smoothies.
One other thing that you can add to your diet to lower your blood pressure is olive oil.
If you need to fry something, you can swap your butter with olive oil as according to scientists, it could lower your blood pressure by as much as 8/7mmHg.
Thus, if you want your blood pressure to be regulated, add cherries and olive oil to your diet.
