Weight loss: Which is more important, dieting or exercising?

Many would love the idea that there is a pill or a juice that we can take that can help us lose weight without having to exercise or go on a diet.

However, that remains to be wishful thinking until now. For you to be able to lose weight, you have to go on a healthy diet and exercise. But, which is more important, dieting or exercising? Or, can you lose weight by just dieting and not exercising or vice versa.

Yes, you can lose weight without exercising. But, you have to make sure that you are eating a healthy diet meaning less carbs for less calories. No processed food or food with high sugar content.

Many experts, according to the Daily Express, stand by the phrase that weight loss is 80 percent dieting and 20 percent exercising.

Indeed, the less calories you take in, the less exercise you will need to do to lose the calories.

But, no matter how you exercise, if you do not watch out what you eat, your weight will not change. It will stay the same.

So, you might say why would you need to exercise then. The answer is because with the right diet, you can lose weight faster if you exercise. And, you burn off the extra calories that dieting cannot shed off.

It does not have to be a hardcore exercise though unless you are an athlete. You don't need to lift weights either. Just 30 minutes of vigorous activity will do. Maybe you can jog or walk or dance. You throw in a bit of strength training but not the heavy stuff.

Doing a bit of exercise will not only help you lose weight but it will also keep it off. Regained weight is actually harder to shed off. Aside from that, it will help minimize your risk of heart diseases.
