“High School Musical 4” was confirmed to be in the works. Disney is also producing the TV series where it all began.
The waiting time for the “High School Musical 4” is long, but filming has already been set so it will not be that long when the movie is finally released in theaters. The details for this sequel is still scarce, but some of the few things that were already confirmed are the cast and filming location.
Are Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens returning?
“High School Musical 4” has a completely new cast lineup. While Zac Efron and Vanessa can still return as a teacher or part of the school administration since they are already older, the actress revealed that she does not want to be in the movie anymore. On the other hand, the actor may accept but for a cameo role only.
None of the original main characters has been confirmed so far. The coaches and teachers from the previous movies are likely to return like coach Bolton.
Filming location
The school officials of the North Penn Hugh School announced that their institution was chosen to be the setting for the “High School Musical 4.” The administration excitedly revealed this information in April and hinted that actual shooting would begin in 2020. The film is also said to be titled “High School Musical 4: East Meets West.”
The TV series
Aside from the “High School Musical 4,” Disney is also working on the movies’ TV version. TV Line reported that the series would be led by Joshua Bassett. There will be just ten episodes in all, and it will be released via Disney’s streaming service site. Release date prediction is this year, so if this is correct, there will be an announcement soon.
In any case, “High School Musical 4” will still be about the students from rival schools - East High School (Wildcats) and West High (Knights). The story will center on a group of students who are involved in a musical stage production in their school. Of course, there will be athletics as well, but this time, instead of basketball, the lead cast will be playing football.
