'Hawaii Five-0' Season 9 Air Date, Spoilers: Modern Show Remaking a Classic Episode That Fans Will Enjoy

Image via HW5-0 Wiki

“Hawaii Five-0' season 9 looks to be giving fans of the show a special treat when it broadcasts its premiere episode in September. The long-running CBS procedural set in the sunny Pacific isles has had its share of ups and downs.

Some of the downs were particularly heart-wrenching for fans such as the departure of some of the series' original cast members, Grace Park and Daniel Dae Kim. But the show was able to bounce back with characters that the fans have become invested in for season 9, as well as the particularly upbeat behind-the-scenes look into the show's production period. But season 9 looks to be promising more for fans of the show, especially those who have also fallen in love with the original “Hawaii Five-0” series.

Jim Colucci, an entertainment journalist covering the 18th Television Critics Association Awards (TCA), teased fans about how “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 will be remaking the original pilot episode from the 1968 “Hawaii Five-0” show.

Colluci mentioned that the remake will be in celebration of the show's 50th anniversary, which aired its first episode on Sept. 20, 1968. This has been confirmed by Peter Lenkov, writer and producer of “Hawaii Five-0,” in a tweet he posted on his personal Twitter account.

The remake of “Cocoon” for “Hawaii Five-0's” season 9 premiere episode may be connected to the potential cameo of former NFL quarterback superstar Vince Ferragamo, which was teased by Lenkov himself a few weeks back.

It would be interesting to see how “Hawaii Five-0” season 9's modern production team will be handling the pilot episode remake considering that the remake will be taking place nine seasons into the show rather than being the pilot for the whole series.

For any fan excited by the news of the remake episode, “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 will air its premiere episode on Sept. 28.
