Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton admitted that they did not think that their relationship would last and this was because they thought that getting involved with one another back then was only a rebound since both of them just broke up with their respective spouses. It is no secret that they met on the set of “The Voice” and not long after that, after their divorce was announced, they began dating.
Stefani and Gavin Rossdale split up after more than a decade of marriage, and the cause was said to be infidelity. The latter allegedly cheated the former by hooking up with their nanny. Their three kids were left with Stefani, and while brokenhearted, she worked as one of the coaches in “The Voice” where she fell in love with her colleague.
Blake Shelton was also dealing with divorce, so he and Stefani have gotten close really fast. In the end, the rumors of their dating turned out to be true. Since they just came out from divorce, the two think that their romance is just something that will pass soon. Perhaps, they will go on their separate ways when their hearts started to heal but they wrong.
"When I was going through my divorce and just hit rock bottom just like anybody does when they go through something that devastating, it's a miracle that I met somebody that was going through the same exact thing that I was at the exact same moment in time," Blake said on NBC’s Today Show. “I think if Gwen and I were being honest right now, talking about it, I think in the back of our minds we both kind of thought, it’s a rebound deal because we’re both coming out of a pretty low spot in our lives, and we’re kind of clinging to each other to get through this.”
Gwen Stefani also thinks this way, but later, she realized that she is totally in love with Blake. They have been in a relationship for four years now, and this fact alone proved that what they have is not simply a rebound relationship.
Now, will Blake finally propose to Gwen so they can get married already? Ellen DeGeneres even got the country singer a proposal countdown clock as a gift so he can ask the “Hollaback Girl” singer to marry him. However, he revealed that even with the clock, it might take a while for them to settle down formally, which means a Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton wedding is not happening any time soon.
