The year 2018 was marked by relentless rumors about Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton either getting engaged, secretly tying the knot, or having a baby. Obviously, none of those claims actually panned out throughout the year. But is any of those possibilities happening in 2019?
A recent report from Hollywood Life said Shelton and Stefani are, without a doubt, still very much in love with one another. Does this mean there is a better chance of them getting engaged or married as their relationship approaches its fourth-year milestone? A source of the blog says no wedding bells are in order.
“Neither Gwen nor Blake have any real desire to get married,” said the insider. “They are both perfectly content with where things are.” The couple spent the New Year’s Eve together and shared a smooch as 2019 officially arrived.
Aside from not rushing things about their relationship, the same source cited other reasons why Stefani and Shelton are unlikely getting married anytime soon saying, “Gwen just added more dates to her Vegas residency and Blake is always there whenever he can be. The same tipster also reiterated that Stefani’s kids remain her no. 1 priority especially now that she is making arrangements for her 4-year-old son, Apollo, to get settled in a new school.
Meanwhile, the tabloid industry is not the only entity insisting that Stefani and Shelton have been engaged all this time. During the “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” singer appeared on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” last December. And, as usual, she got the ample dose of teasing from DeGeneres who suddenly said on-screen that Shelton already confirmed they are engaged.
Stefani just laughed at what DeGeneres said before reiterating that no wedding bells await for her and Shelton yet. “What are you talking about? We're not. We're not engaged, and we’re not married. And he’s my boyfriend still,” the Las Vegas resident said.
