‘Grimm’ season 6’s episode 9, titled “Tree People,” will follow Nick, Hank, and Wu as they head to the woods to investigate a tree-like creature that attacks humans. Meanwhile, Capt. Renard continues to decipher Diana’s drawings.
The synopsis for “Tree People” posted on TV Guide reads, “A man claims his friend was consumed by a treelike figure; and the gang learn of Eve's (Bitsie Tulloch) disturbing mirror encounter, which leads everyone to take extra precautions. Meanwhile, Capt. Renard (Sasha Roiz) tries to determine what Diana (Hannah R. Loyd) was drawing.”
The upcoming episode will feature Nick (David Giuntoli), Hank (Russell Hornsby), and Wu (Reggie Lee) as they are called to a new investigation that involves a tree-like figure that has devoured someone’s friend. Basing on the episode title itself, it seem that the team will be dealing with creatures called the “tree people” and these creatures are presumably dangerous, particularly to humans.
The promo reveals that these creatures attack by way of long, powerful branches or roots that wrap around people to devour them alive. One of the scenes from the promo shows Rosalee (Bree Turner) getting attacked in the woods. She then struggles and screams for her life.
Turner talked about the upcoming episode during an interview with Blastr. The actress said, “In "Tree People" coming up ... our creature in that is one of our best practical effect creatures that we've had on the series.”
She continued, “There was no imagination that needed to be happening, like this guy was really chasing us and we were really in the woods and it was really freaky… That episode coming up was just a highlight for me on the show in the last six years of just how lucky we are to do what we get to do.”
Meanwhile, Renard will continue to discover more about Diana as he attempts to find answers for her drawing. The previous episode followed Renard as he enlisted the help of a Siberian woman in order to decipher Diana’s work. The woman revealed that the symbols frightened her and may signal impending doom.
‘Grimm’ season 6’s episode 9, titled “Tree People,” is scheduled to air on NBC on March 3, 2017. It was directed by Jim Kouf and written by Brenna Kouf. It will be followed by episode 10, titled "Blood Magic," directed by Janice Cook and scheduled to be released on March 10.
